Joanne has always had an inherent love of all types of music having grown up exposed to many genres. However, singing really took over when at age 11 she sang at her first wedding - the bug was caught and she is still doing it today!  In her teens Joanne began vocal training with the Co. Wexford School of Music and after four years moved to the Waterford Institute of Technology where she completed her Grade VIII examination with the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music. She also completed a Gold Medal Recital with the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Joanne went on to complete Senior Certificates with the RIAM in both classical singing and musical theatre performance under the guidance of Deirdre Masterson.

During this time Joanne competed in many prestigious competitions nationwide with successes  including winning the Capuchin Annual Cup for National Airs, Lieder Cup, Cecilian Perpetual Challenge Cup for Artistic Interpretation, Woodworth Cup for Vocal Repertoire and Voice of the Fintan O Carroll Feis.

Joanne has performed nationwide including the National Concert Hall where she was part of the Lyric Opera Chorus for productions of Carmen and La Traviata. She is a former member of the Irish Youth Choir and toured with them to venues such as The National Gallery of Ireland and St. Canice's Cathedral, Kilkenny. She also played the leading role Harvest Home in the premiere youth opera 'Peace' by Carl Davis - an initiative of Summer Music on the Shannon in conjunction with Opera Ireland with performances in Co. Clare, Friar's Gate Theatre, Co. Cork and University Concert Hall, Limerick.

Since then she has explored the musical theatre field playing leading roles with many musical societies such as The Merry Widow (Gorey Musical Society - title role), Guys & Dolls (New Ross Musical Society - Sarah Browne), The Music Man & Grease (Enniscorthy Musical Society - Marion Paroo & Pink Lady Jan), Annie (Oyster Lane Theatre Group - Grace Farrell) & Pirates of Penzance (Kilkenny Musical Society - Mabel Stanley). She also took some months out to train further in London in this field with WestEnd Masterclass among others.

She is a well known concert soloist, having partaken in more charity events and guest artist slots than she can remember. Highlights of her concert work include two sold out solo concerts, opening a commemorative concert in Christchurch Cathedral, Waterford to honour Waterford born opera composer William Vincent Wallace (1812-1865), performing in the Thomas Moore Festival in Dublin and getting to perform live on U.S TV at the St. Patrick's Day Mass in Savannah, Georgia in 2012 as well as other events to mark the festivities.

She is no stranger to recording either, having had her first solo studio experience as a vocalist on the Music Made Easy Programme designed to facilitate the music curriculum in primary schools which is circulated nationwide. She has since had her voice aired on RTE Radio 1 and other stations and in 2012 recorded her album of Irish songs 'Send Me a Song' which can be purchased at www.irishcountry.ie

Her vocal and performance instruction work has seen her work with many individuals and groups. She is a former member of faculty at the Co. Wexford School of Music and Wexford School of Ballet and Performing Arts as well as Fresh Arts Theatre School in London. She has both been a member of and taught choirs for many years, from taking community games groups and soloists to national level to teaching children's choirs, Glee/Disney clubs etc. She was the youngest member and soloist of The Carrigbyrne Pike Choir for ten years as well as involvement both as a vocalist and co-director of parish choirs. She has gone on to deliver workshops to such groups and it was in this capacity Joanne first worked with Enniscorthy Gospel Choir - for whom she is now Musical Director.

In addition to this she continues to run a successful wedding and church music business as well as a freelance vocal practice. She regularly gives workshops as well as one to one teaching. She also holds a First Class Honours degree in Early Childhood Studies and is currently completing a Certificate in Teaching Self Confidence and working towards a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help people of all ages find their voice in many ways.
